Hello,
I am running an LTO tape backup system on a Mac (using Bru Tolis). Until now we have been restoring files to a local drive. However, now we want to restore files directly to our NAS. However, for each file we restore we get a warning - saying chown: Operation not permitted. The Bru command is run from the Mac terminal, and accesses the Nas Mac share /Volumes/FreeNAS-Mac1
I know that the Bru software automatically chowns the restored files (to the original user/group when the the file was written to tape). It does this even if they are the same. There is nothing I can do to stop Bru from doing this, so I need to know how to allow files to be chowned.
The user/group I run the tape backup/restore on the Mac system are backupuser/admin
The user/group I connect to the Mac share on the FreeNAS server are me/me
I'm running Mac OS Lion, and FreeNAS 8.02
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
