Change owning user and group of folder and files

I have a dataset with a owning user and group. This dataset has folder and files of course. I want to change one of the folders and its subdirectories/files to a different owning user and group. Can I do this without changing the dataset owner and group? If so, how? Will

Reason for request, plex is not able to read this directory all of a sudden and I think it's permissions related.
