Cant get updates/plugins

Just installed FreeNAS 9.3 version. Installed without any issues. Then changed the network configuration , gateway, nameservers.
But when I click the update button it shows url open error-hostname nor servername not found.
Checked the entries in the /etc/hosts
But didnt seen the machine ip address there. thats why Iam getting the dns error.
Why the host file is not changing?
Where should I have to make the changes?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please but AFAIK, updates for 9.3 are not happening any more.

Why did you install FreeNAS 9.3? FreeNAS 9.10.1-U2 is the current version.

As @BigDave said, FreeNAS 9.3 entered maintenance mode back in March 2016. There was a release for 9.3.1 back in May 2016.

How are you changing the "network configuration , gateway, and nameservers"? Are you doing it from the console setup menu, the webGUI, or manually editing files. Doing the latter is incorrect. FreeNAS stores it's configuration in a database. Changes made manually might be lost after a restart and/or software upgrade.

You are right gpsguy. Every time after reboot the configuration changes. so Today I upgraded to freenas 9.10
I changed the configurateion through Network -Global configuration
Then I changed the hostname, domain name, gateway, nameserver etc. But again cant accessthe plugins, I can ping any ip but cant ping any domain.
