This is my first time setting up a FreeNAS system and can't seem to get a volume created.

I have 6x500gb disks and intend to use Raid-Z2. The initial setup wizard only sees 5 drives (ada0,1,2,3,5). If I go to View Disks, all drives are there (I quick wiped them all) and when I use Volume Manager to create the volume, it sees all six drives, however, once everything is set and I click Add Volume, the screen refreshes and nothing shows under volumes. I went through the guide and it appears i'm creating the volume correctly, just not sure what i'm missing.

Hmmm... try deleting any existing volume(s) before creating a new one. The Volume Manager screenshot above shows that only a single drive was available when you tried to create the volume.

Maybe also post the output of "zfs status" from the CLI and we'll see what you currently have going on.

I found the solution. I didn't notice the little message that said 'couldn't format ada4' I dban'd it (later learned the CLI way) and it worked now.

What does "dban'd" mean?
