Hi
Newbie here. I used the SMB /CIF guide and it worked a treat. I have 3 drives in my FreeNas box and the OS is running on a CF card.

I have easily worked with getting the CIF/SMB on drive 1, the attributes are Guest/Guest, but I cannot change the attributes on drives 2 and 3.

Drives 2 and 3 won't change from Root and Wheel. I change the settings it says they have changed, then I open the view again and it is back to root and wheel.

any comments would be appreciated.

Do you have three single-disk zpools? If so, why?

You should create datasets and share those (don't share entire zpools).

Use windows acl type.

Create an admin user and group and make it owner of shares.

I will ditto that ^^ You don't want to share out individual drives. The whole idea behind this is to take all your disk and create a volume, then add datasets ontop. You want to share the dataset.
