...and it says...?

You're getting disk errors on ada2. Either the disk is toast, or the cable or SATA port is defective.

We need more info to answer.
You need to click on the alert and give us a screen shot of what it says.

You can also tell us what hardware you are using. The more you can tell us, the better we can help.

Please slow down and don't remove stuff randomly. It looks like you have problems with your boot volume and your data volume.

Please post the results of zpool status using code tags.

You need to fix these issues, before you consider an upgrade.

Please follow the advice @gpsguy gave so we can help you fix one thing at a time.
I can see that there are several problems.
First, one of the boot disks (you must have had a mirror) has failed and we need to get that replaced.
Then, it appears that your storage pool may have a faulty drive also, but we need to see that zpool status to know for sure.
After that, your pool is over 80% filled, so we should look at adding some storage or removing some data.
Last, unless something else comes up, then we look at the update. Best to have it all working first.

Your volume is 85% full. The warning shows up at 80%. At 90% full, performance will start to tank and if you let it go to 100% you'll end up in a world of hurt where you can't delete files easily.

I won't be able to resume help for a few hours. Wait for others to chime in.

In the meantime you might want to download a copy of the documentation. For version 9.3 and later, you can get it via a link in my signature. Get the version that matches your FreeNAS version.

Read up on "save configuration". Download the configuration before your boot drive completely dies.

Sorry I can't write more. I am doing this on my cell phone.
