Noob here, just installed FreeNAS 8, and I'm at the line "You may try the following URLs to access the web user interface"

http://192.168.3.100

I enter in IE and Firefox, and no go.

What am I doing wrong?

thanks.

Did you set a static IP on the FreeNAS server?

Did you set a static IP using your DHCP server?

and if it helps any, the rest of my network have addresses of 192.168.0.* and I was suspect of this being 192.168.3.*

Yeah.. you have a network problem. You probably have a firewall somewhere. it's not a FreeNAS issue though.

It's weird that the DHCP server would dole out 192.168.3.* addresses when your actual network is on 192.168.0.*. The obvious quick solution is to use a static IP in FreeNAS and set it to 192.168.0.* (whatever's free).

Normally it wouldn't. He has 2 DHCP servers conflicting with each other or a router connected to a router in series.

I figured out the problem. I have a Grandstream HT502 (VOIP) hooked up into the mix here. I had forgotten that the RJ45 cable I used to temporarily hook the FreeNAS into the network was coming from the VOIP. It is assigning the 192.168.3.* addresses. DOH!
