Can Install, No video after reboot

I've searched for anything on the forums or google but I didn't find anything that seems to match my issue. I can install no problem, video is fine but after reboot, no video. I thought maybe the old video card wasn't supported (Radeon 5450) but it seems to be well supported. I'm using DVI-D port (DVI-D to HDMI cable). Not sure if that's an issue.

my build uses a H310 motherboard, an Intel i3-9100F CPU, 16GB of non-ECC DDR4-2666 RAM, and the aforementioned Radeon 5450. Trying to boot off a 256GB SSD in M.2 slot. I have 3 4TB and 1 1TB seagate connected to the motherboard (all 4 SATA ports filled).

any ideas on what else to check?

Turns out, it was the DVi-D output. I connected a displayport cable to the other port and video came up. My video card doesn't have a HDMI port but I wonder if I had used a HDMI to HDMI cable, if it would have worked...
