Can FreeNAS be used for Version Control?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section or already have been answered, but my question is as the topic mentions; can FreeNAS be used for version control?

I'm the leader of a game development team, and we're on an extremely slim budget, so we have ordered a $250 server for file storage/sync. We are developing the game in Unreal Engine 4, so we are wondering if it's possible to host a version control software on our FreeNAS server, like perforce or a variant of SVN.

FreeNAS itself doesn't include any version control software, but pretty much anything that works on FreeBSD can be installed in a jail. See http://doc.freenas.org/11/jails.html for more about them.

Ah, I see. Makes sense, considering FreeNAS is based on FreeBSD. Thanks for clearing things up!
