RAM is used for cache. My primary FreeNAS system has 128GB RAM in it... with lots of room to expand if I desire. And FreeNAS happily chews up all of it, caching stuff.Who ever needs 32 GB of RAM in a NAS-system? :)

OK thanks ! So the CPU is not good enough if I want to use Plex ?The CPU is fine as long as you don't transcode.
The RAM is faster than the CPU is rated for, so it's perfectly alright.
Ok so if I need transcoding I should go for something like Intel Xeon E3-1220 v5 and maybe upgrade RAM ?It is if you only stream. Transcoding would be painful.
Like i3 4330 ? and upgrade RAM ?No, an i3 is fine for moderate transcoding.
Sure.Like i3 4330 ?
Not needed. Upgrade it later if needed.and upgrade RAM ?
So finally I think I m going for that considering my uses ( storage, torrent servor, file sharing, DLNA, plex ) :
SuperMicro X10SLM+-F
i3 4330
Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3L-1600 ECC UDIMM
3x2TB Western Digial Red in RAID-Z
Cyberpower CP685AVR
Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower Case
Silicon Power Slim S55 2.5" 120GB
USB Scan Disk 32 GB
Is anyone find a mistake in there ?
And is an UPS needed ?
And does someone have a cheap website where I can find low cost and reliability for shipping in EU (France precisely ) ?
Thanks,
Thank you,1 - That case doesn't support the micro ATX board.
2 - Why the USB flash drive if you are using the SSD (presumably the SSD is for the FreeNAS installation)?
3 - A UPS is a MUST have. FreeNAS does not enjoy ungraceful shutdowns.
Seasonic X-650

On which component can I save money ?

what ' s the difference between SuperMicro X10SLM+-F and X10SLM-F ?
