Boot failed. Efi hard drive

I converted a Windows 2008 R2 VMDK from VMWare ESXi 6.0.0 to RAW then to ZVOL by following these instructions: https://justinholcomb.me/blog/2016/03/26/migration-to-freebsd-part4.html

I created a virtual machine (I'm using FreeNAS 11.2 Stable), assigned the ZVOL as the only drive then tried to boot, but I got the "Boot failed. Efi hard drive" error, then this screen:

What can I do to boot this disk?. Is there an up to date tutorial?.

Hi @dlavigne (off topic: I'm a proud owner of your "BSD Hacks" book, great btw.). I had to move to Proxmox for this project, but the server was an 11.2-Stable.

I must add, I converted the same VMDK to QCOW2 to use in Proxmox and booted without any issue.
