Hi everyone. I installed freenas 9.3 on 3 USB devices.
In "boot satus" i can see:

-freenas-bot
-mirror-0
da1p2
da0p2
da2p2

I want to delete the last usb device because its failing, but i only see the option to replace it. I want to use only 2 USB devices (delete the last one). Can you help me please? Thanks!

The other question is: how can i realize wich phisical USB is the"da2p2"?. All USB sticks are the same brand and model (8GB)...

You definitely can't from the GUI. While you could try a zpool detach from the CLI, it is probably easier and safer to just reinstall the same version to the desired number of devices.

I also have a three way mirror boot usb. What I did , since the usb is so small, was to color code them with a dot from a paint pen. Then I added them to my system one at a time. After each addition I ran "camcontrol inquiry daX" which gives you the serial number for each usb. I jotted down the serial numbers which correspond to each color coded usb on a slip of paper I left inside the case. If one of the usb drives goes bad, I can run camcontrol inquiry again (since as I understand, da assignments may change on reboot) and identify the offending drive by serial number and color. Seems better that yanking out usb drives in a trial and error fashion to find the bad drive.

Thank you jde! Did you use "replace" option or delete the bad drive with "zpool detach"?

I haven't had one go bad yet, so I don't have an answer for you.

Is there a reason you don't want to keep it as a three way mirror? USB drives are pretty cheap. Since the boot is a zfs pool in 9.3, seems like you should just follow the directions in the documentation for replacing a failed drive. If you want to ditch the three way mirror, seems like backing up your config file and reinstalling freenas would be easiest.
