Unfortunately the bug report is private.

Has there been any progress?

Can the bug report be made public? I have a bhyve VM that's always using at least ~15% CPU, even when it's doing nothing.

bhyve seems to be far more processor intensive that vbox was running in a jail.

Not really no, my full log is in that report, and it was the developers that made it private. so think theres some info in there the public shouldent see

Ok, thanks for raising the ticket. If you can keep us updated in this thread? Happy to provide anything that might help resolve.

think actully you should make a bug report, maybe they eventually merge them then, and maybe do something..but sure i'll keep this thread in the loop

It will be made public once the dev is finished with the debug and removes it.

Fortunately I have just found a workaround!

Remove the VNC device on the VM and idle CPU usage goes below 1%!

Please add that information to the bug report. Maybe the devs can calm down VNC when it's not actually in use.

I removed the VNC device yesterday and haven't seen any difference in CPU usage. Did you also restart the VM?

Hi guys,

Just did the update to 11.1-U4, after trying everything from 11.1-Release to 11.1-U3 and experiencing the bhyve 10-15% issue reported here.
Also before update I removed all the VNC devices from my VMs. Then I did the upgrade to 11.1-U4.

Seems that the workaround with removing the VNC device works ok :
