Hey,
I followed the guide to do a burn in on a couple of new drives (more to come since I'll be expanding the pool soon). The tests on two drives are mid way through the 3rd pass and one drive is about 15% ahead of the other drive (both same make and model). I suspect that by the time the tests finish one drive will be 20 - 25% ahead of the other. Is this cause for concern? I doubt Seagate would accept "This one was slower than the other one" as a reason for an RMA request.

Thanks,

No cause for concern. It's more likely that one of the instances of badblocks is being given a slightly higher priority than the other, which is resulting in it going faster.

If you want to know if something is wrong with the drive, look at its SMART parameters. Those *will* qualify it for an RMA if something is actually wrong.
