Of all the UPS drivers in FreeNAS can anyone tell me which one to try for use with an APC BN1350G?

What exactly are the benefits communications between the UPS and FreeNAS other than a graceful shutdown?

Benefits are UPS monitoring (whatever it communicates).

Try the APC driver that matches your model.

Thanks Eric, I was looking for the specific model number. On closer examination of my BN1350G I figure it comes under the category of Back UPS-PRO.

One more silly question. I have 10 options when selecting the Port the UPS is plugged into /dev/cuau0, /dev/cuau1, and about 8 items listed as /dev/ugenx.x. How might I line these up with all the USB ports on the back my machine?

Isn't there an auto option? If not, open the console, plug it in and see which USB port reports a new device.

Eric, No auto option. Plugged in a monitor and then the UPS and got 'ugen1.6 APC at usbus1'. Entered the driver, port, told it to shutdown when goes on battery after 60 seconds, and to email me.

Is there a way to check on the communication from FreeNAS or should I just unplug my UPS and see if I get an email?

Thank a lot for your help! It is really appreciated.

Tried the 'upsc ups' command and the error 'Connection failure: Connection refused'.
