APC UPS - unknown UPS

Hi,

I have my APC UPS detected by the FreeNAS system:
uhid0: <American Power Conversion Smart-UPS C 1500 FWUPS 10.0 ID1005, class 0/0, rev 2.00/1.06, addr 2> on usbus3

I have been able to set up the UPS service using the GUI.
I was even able to shutdown the Server with the option "UPS goes on battery" when unpluging power to the UPS so communication seems to be functioning.

However when I try the command "upsc ups" I am getting "unknown UPS". The idea is to get the Server switched off when the UPS is running low on battery.
So I am wondering how the Server will find out that information if it can't read the UPS values.

Is there anything I can do to improve the setup.
Basically, I have chosen "APC ups 2 Smart-UPS USB USB (usbhid-ups)" as driver, "/dev/uhid0" as port, Master as mode and that's it.

Thanks!

Were you able to resolve this? If not, which FreeNAS version?

Hi,
You did not state if you named the UPS in the identifier field.

The upsc command needs the name of the ups as you named it in the Identifier field...
Example: If the identifier is MyUps... the upsc command should be "upsc MyUps".

Hope it helps
Peter
