Hello all,

Is it possible to "backup" all Freenas settings and plugin settings and put that on a new system?
Its on a server tower now and needs to go to a desktop model.

Or is the best to redo all from scratch ?

thanx in advance

If you're planning to move over the drives in your pools where the jails (plugins) are, you would be able to restore your config from the existing server and have everything work as expected right away.

If you plan to leave the disks, it will depend on how you have set up your plugin jails (did you separate out the config?).

You can just move all the disks, including the boot pool, and it will just work. You may need to reconfigure networking, though, depending on the hardware on both servers.
