I built and am using my freenas server 4-5 months ago. Works great. It only has 2 hard drives, and a capacity for 2 more. I do have 2 more matching hard drives. Could I add them to the system, and have it automatically set up the redundancy?

Also, a totally different question

Could I move the drives to another pc with the flash drive and expect it to act like the drives were never swapped?

Thanks again!

There are several paths but the easiest is (1) saving a copy of your configuration (2) install Freenas on another system (3) install the drives in the new system (4) read back the config.
I'd think the easiest path would be to simply move everything to the new system, including the boot device. Reconfigure the network adapter if necessary.
