Adaptec HBA 1000-16I SATA/SAS LP-MD2 2288400-R

Hi,

is there any good or bad experience with this HBA?
I know cj is discouraging the use of Adaptec but is this still valid nowadays?

That one is like half the price of an LSI SAS9201-16i ... which of course will be of no help if they are not trustworthy ;)

It's valid until Adaptec starts producing documentation on how their chipsets work or start providing their own drivers as LSI does. It's sad, since Adaptec used to be the gold standard for FreeBSD SCSI.
