Hello All,

I need to build a Freenas server to act as 1st tier backup server that will have initially 6x 6tb sata drives , and could expend up to 12 drives eventually if needed.
We have contact a local supermicro vendor which suggested following below spec and
said that LSI HBA 9211-4i is enough and with the super micro expander module he can support the up 12 drives if needed.
My question would such config suggested in terms of performance or experience or should i ask
to have 8i + 4i or 16i lsi HBA?
Please advice
Thanks
