Hi!
I'm an intern on my first tech job (yay!) and I have been tasked with creating a TrueNAS server to server SMB shares for our team to throw their data at.
I've managed to pass-through my Dell Storage Center's SAS HBAs and volumes to the ProxMox VM I am running TrueNAS off of, and have created Pools and Datasets that I've put up in a SMB Share. But I am having trouble with:
-AD Integration
-Visibility of my SMB Shares in Windows
Concerning AD Integration:
I'm an intern on my first tech job (yay!) and I have been tasked with creating a TrueNAS server to server SMB shares for our team to throw their data at.
I've managed to pass-through my Dell Storage Center's SAS HBAs and volumes to the ProxMox VM I am running TrueNAS off of, and have created Pools and Datasets that I've put up in a SMB Share. But I am having trouble with:
-AD Integration
-Visibility of my SMB Shares in Windows
Concerning AD Integration:
- I setup a connection to our company's NTP server to sync time in preparation for our AD: https://imgur.com/a/QwbPKs8
- I configured the right DNS settings, which checks out because the ping to our NTP server name resolves correctly in Shell: https://imgur.com/a/cDZfee8
- I put in my AD credentials (but am not sure of the format): https://imgur.com/a/6FMhonC. You can see here that a "Leave the domain" option is available on the bottom left, however I am not joined to the domain (https://imgur.com/a/13aEDpZ ; https://imgur.com/a/az57w8J) and my wbinfo shows that : https://imgur.com/a/A5bScLz
- So my question is: what am I doing wrong? Is my failure to integrate AD caused by a configuration error, or are my credentials wrong? I have setup AD on other apps and have never had trouble before.
- My Shares are setup and Active : https://imgur.com/a/MAHqQ7k
- But I have no idea what path leads to the shares. I've tried //@nasIP/mnt/CRCT-Informatique/Partage-CRCT-Informatique on Windows Explorer, but that just sends me back to the web interface. How do you check shares visibility? I've also tried 'Connect a Network Share' but that doesn't work either.
