I have setup FreeNAS having a single disk, UFS.
Following this: http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/CIFS_Shares#Configuring_Anonymous_Access to set up the CIFS share.
Owned by guest, guest. Shared via CIFS. I have it mapped to D: on a Windows 7 box running Windows Media Center. The root directory (//freenas/D) is writable fine, but sub-directories (RecordedTV and Movies) cannot be written to. I have set the permissions in the user account (guest), have the share as the home directory of guest. The permissions for the user guest home directory are set to 777. The volume permissions are set to 777. If I try to create a new folder via "New-->Folder" it creates the folder but then says I cannot create the folder??? If I try to delete the folder, it says I do not have permissions to delete it. I know this is simple and I must be missing something. Anyone?
