Hello! I've successfully used FreeNAS-9.1.0-ALPHA-331120a-x86.img on a 16 GB memory stick with an old netbook.

When I recently replaced the alpha version with FreeNAS-9.1.0-BETA-9bea76d-x86.img, the system won't boot.

I get an error message:

"<stuff off the top of the screen>
GEOM: da0: the primary GPT table is corrupt or invalid.
GEOM: da0 using the secondary instead -- recovery strongly adviced.
Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ufs/FreeNASs1a
ROOT MOUNT ERROR:"

Then I get to a mountroot prompt.

I've tried to mount everything at the prompt, but can't get it to work.

I've also wiped the netbook harddrive, without accomplishing anything.

Please help!

Unetbootin doesn't work. You may have to wipe the disk first before using Win32 Disk Imager.

Well, I did, using Active@ KillDisk. After that I used Win32 Disk Imager.

Not sure then. I'm assuming the SHA hash was OK? Does a newer BETA give the same error?

What's the model of the system? Is its BIOS uptodate?

System: Acer Aspire One
System BIOS Version: V1.08
VGA BIOS Version: Intel V1585

SHA256 checks out:

Which command did you use to burn the image?

What error do you get?

I used the gui of Win32 Disk Imager.

Image was FreeNAS-9.1.0-BETA-ccdff24-x86.img, and some other nightly builds.

Also tried UNetBootin.

One of the memories I used for FreeNAS contained 16 GB. Could this be the problem?

Edit: Model: Kingston DataTraveler 112 16 GB

Not sure, but it might be the kingston drive. I have tried multiple windows server images and other tools on my Kingston traveler and nothing wants to boot from it.

For FreeNAS i use SanDisk Cruzer fit 4GB. No problems with the 9.1 Beta either. :)
