Hi

I have used freeNAS about 2 year now. I had i drive failure a time ago and rebiulded that successfully. Now i had a drive failure again and rebiulded it again. Havn't used my share for a while and dint make notis of something wrong until now when i logged in all looked around. The rebiuld was done and a green light. After a while in the terminal it gone to yellow light and saying it is resilvering. I thought it was wierd because it was just complete. When i go to storage > view volumes. The main dataset RAID-Z 6,7TB (62%). The dataset under that my home direcory i save my files 55,7GB (1%). If i look around under mnt/"myraid" i cant see anymore then my 55,7GB. Now when it saying that it have used 6,7TB. Where are the rest of the data?
Forgot to say when i stated the rebuild "CAM status Uncorrectable parity/CRC error showed on the monitor connected to the NAS. I didnt do anything about it yesterday i logged in and it was a green light and the error message gone from the NAS monitor. Now when the resilvering started again the CRC went up again. Before then i have done a rebuild I used the NAS like normal and could see all my files.

Does anyone have any idea? What might be the problem? and do you think my data is gone?

Your data is still there, somewhere. What you need to worry about is the resilvering and the CAM status errors that are appearing. Write the next couple down and post them here.

Odds are good that the drive that is resilvering is failing and needs to be replaced.

The disk that are resilvering is new. But well well, im glad to hear that the data is in the RAID, somewhere, I hope your right.

But something wierd is going on:

<code>
scan: resilver in progress since Sun Nov 23 22:50:12 2014
152M scanned out of 8.46T at 5.26M/s, 468h26m to go
21.8M resilvered, 0.00% done

Last i checked it was 3 hours left, but nearly nothing complete in %, so I feelt something was wrong there.

(ada1:ahcici1:0:0:0): CAM status Uncorrectable paraity CRC error
(ada1:ahcici1:0:0:0): retrying command
(ada1:ahcici1:0:0:0): WRITE _FPDMA_QUEUED. ACB:

(and then after ACB its hexcode in random. 61 01 f7 00 01 ..... its printing out 2 new messages every second.)

Feels like the resilvering is stuck in a loop also.
Any suggestion to what to do?

You definitely have a problem. Please attach a copy of your debug file.

I would suggest you change the SATA cable on the ada1 drive. If that doesn't help, the new drive is probably DOA.

You've got a bad drive in the pool. To make things worse you put ada1 in the pool without following the manual for disk replacement.

As your system is now "outside of the expectations of the software" I'm going to bow out of this conversation. I've learned not to get into these arguments over what is and isn't expected, blah blah blah. There's too many variables and it's something that I'm not about to get into today. :)

Good luck.

But, should i try to change the disk again? and wishing it will work?

Its a better chance then how it is now, isnt it?

Does anyone know any other command or tool to locate files that you know where they are? All the data must be somewhere?
