I have a clean install of 11.2-beta3 and zfs setup a clean install with a new usb drive. After 2 clean installs to make sure it wasn't an installation issue my drives aren't listed in storage. However when when go to shell and run camcontrol devlist the drives are listed. How do I get them to show up in storage so that I can import my zfs and get to the data? Thanks in advance for any input that would point me in the right direction.

I'm sorry your having issues with a clean install. Can you please provide the output of lspci and camcontrol list in code tags?

After a reboot drives ada1 and ada3 showed up in storage/disks but disks ada0 and ada 2 are still not showing so I can't import my zfs volume.

I would suggest going back to 11.1U6 and see if that makes a difference. Is there an old pool on the drives that your trying to import? If so, what version did you have before?

I had it upgraded from 11.1-u6 to 11.2beta2 and iocage wasn't working and I couldn't properly install plugins. So I chose to do a clean install of 11.2beta3 to this result. I do have a zfs pool I wish to import. Thank you for the suggestion I will go ahead and do just that and do a fresh install of 11.1-u6.

Hi, I upgraded to 11.2-beta and seem to have exactly the same problems:

* Boot takes unusually long, most notably there also is a Midlewared failed to start within 4 minutes. message (along others)
* The "List Drives" UI only displays 3 of my 8 drives
* Command line shows all drives (lspci output/camcontrol devlist etc.)

I even was able to import my pools using the command line (zpool import -f), and they now show up as online and OK using zpool list.

Still they are not visible on the UI, so I cannot, for example, create a Fileshare that provides my pools (dropdown is empty).

Can provide further data as soon as I am home.

Thanks, import/export via command line and then importing from GUI worked - I am now able to see the pools via "Storage -> Pools" and in seleciton boxes like "Path" for SMB Fileshares. Also creating and accessing the Fileshares works, so on a technical level everything seems functional now.

However, I still have a similar problem with the individual disks - "Storage -> Disks" shows only subset (3 of 8) of my physical disks.
As already mentioned, on a technical level all disks are operational, it again seems to be a GUI issue only.

For example this hinders me me from creating scheduled S.M.A.R.T. tests, since the dropdown will not show the remaining 5 disks.

Yeah That's an issue. You should file a bug report.

It seems that my problem was caused the slow USB Sticks I used as boot devices - I changed to a mirrored SSD setup for boot and no longer get the Midlewared failed to start within 4 minutes. upon startup and the device list is initialized correctly.

This may have solved it for me, but I am still posting here to make you aware of a potential problem - beginning with the 11.2Betas very slow boot devices seem to have some problems with initializing the data for the GUI correctly (as mentioned, via command line everything still worked) when running into the Midlewared failed to start error upon boot.
