I stumbled upon a new 10GbE adapter from asus:

ASUS PEB-10G/57811-1S
http://www.asus.com/Commercial_Servers_Workstations/PEB10G578111S/overview/

It's rather inexpensive and not that energy consuming as the current Intel models. It is using a Broadcom BCM 57811S chipset and I found few post from checkins to the FreeBSD repository; but could not figure out if this NIC should be working under FreeNAS 9.3 or an upcoming version?

thanks :)

I wouldn't recommed it because of its brand. Asus is just entering that market, and so I don't put much faith in them "getting things done correctly". As we've seen with their f*cked up "server" boards (the quotes are deliberate), they have learning to do. You can't jump into a new market and be a pro. Your first few products will be crap. Then you learn and you, hopefully, do better.
