Scale request - GNU Screen

This is a package request for TrueNAS Scale to include GNU Screen. It's installed in Core and available for Debian. It is useful when doing multiple badblock scans or sessions that won't die when the ssh session gets terminated.

So is tmux, which is included with SCALE. But if you think screen should also be in SCALE, I'd suggest you open a ticket at the "Report a Bug" link above for the devs to look at it.

I can't open tickets any more, for some reason. I have another feature I would like in Scale.

Yes, their were a few Jira accounts that got hosed. Contact one of the iXsystems staff and ask them about it. Or better yet, search the forums for the thread that discussed the problem. Probably under the Developer's Corner forum.

As for Screen, I've used it extensively over the last 20 years or so. But, apparently it has received little to no updates recently. Thus, some Linux distros want to deprecate the software in favor of others like TMux. I find that sad, because Screen has a lot of useful features that I now have to learn if TMux has them.
