Hey guys, I have revived an old NAS from iX systems for a secondary backup location, it is running TrueNAS 9.2.1.2. It seems a bit flaky at times and I'd like to update the OS. It's old enough I assume it's not going to be supported for ver 12+, but was hoping to get it a bit newer than where it's at.
I attempted to update to Freenas 9.3 and it returned that 'Truenas does not equal Freenas.' I'd prefer to just update the existing OS if possible and don't want to invest a ton of time in it as it generally serves its purpose. Are there still Truenas 9.x or 10.x downloads available where I can make a small OS jump? I can't find them anywhere...

All versions are available here http://archive.freenas.org/

You will see that 10 doesn't exist there - it was withdrawn. There are a number of threads here discussing updating from old versions which detail appropriate stepping processes.

Posting the NAS specs may enable some comments about upgrade possibilities.

If I might ask, why did you asume it wouldn't be compatible with TrueNAS Core 12?
Any drivers that are removed from FreeBSD?

Just assumed due to age...

I've stumbled across this before, all FreeNAS versions sans v10. when I attempted to update from the TrueNAS gui firmware update button to a freenas 9.3 version it returned 'Truenas does not equal Freenas' and did not update. I suppose I could do it manually.... the nature of my question was are there Truenas downloads available that I could just use the 'firmware update' button to update more automatically.
