I am looking to install FreeNAS on my Thecus N12000Pro but I am cautious of the card in the device.

I got into the card to check it out and this is all I can find.
Adapter Properties -- SAS2008
Adapter: SAS Module
MPT Frmware Rev: 16.00.00.00-IT
Boot Support: Disabled

Will this work? Do I need to check something else?
Thanks for you help

Can you give some details on this hardware?

This firmware needs to be updated.

That adapter has a firmware version 20.00.07.00 which has important updates that I would say are mandatory.
I converted a couple of QNAP systems that were originally built with the older firmware and I didn't have too much trouble converting the firmware that came on their SAS card to a standard LSI firmware.

We just need more details on what the guts are inside that Thecus system.

My uneducated guess is that is a cheap supermicro system with a fancy faceplate. Here is everything I know about it, minus what I put up in my OP.

This firmware needs to be updated.

I planned to update the firmware if everything else looked good to go. Thanks for the help!
