Have a small home system that has been running fine since late 2014. I think because of the AMD processor I can't go past 9.2. Don't want to get too far behind in the system version with Free NAS so am thinking about a second build (no parts yet) and need to move the data (Movies & photos) over. I don't think I can just move the 2 hard drives over to the new system, so is the best plan to have the two systems on the same network and copy the files over? Would like to repurpose the 2 WD drives.
current system is: ASUS Micro ATX motherboard, AMD Athlon processor, Rosewill ATX case, Crucial 8GB RAM, 2 mirrored WD red drives, Toshiba 8 GB boot drive
second build: Supermicro X9SCM-F board, Intel Xeon E3 processor, an ATX case and PSU, 16 GB ECCRAM, SDD boot drive and 2 WD red drives.
