Setting a simple server

I will be setting a very basic system just to transfer a file or two between some pcs, i was wondering if the default configuration of freenas was ok for this task or if there was any plugin or change i could do to make transfers faster


Also should i download the plugins+virtualization iso or the other one?

Neither; you should download the current stable iso (there was a new release last night)--if you're going to use FreeNAS at all. But it sounds like FreeNAS might be overkill for what you're wanting to do. What kind of hardware are you planning to use?

Data integrity is the thing FreeNAS does well, if this is your goal freeNAS will work great

A correctly build freeNAS server costs about the same as a normal PC
