I thought I'd post this on the off chance someone else was having a similar problem. Apologies if this isn't an appropriate place to post this.

Last year I built a simple FreeNAS box (AMD E-350D APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 8g ECC RAM, 6t storage) and started seeing my house wireless network randomly start dropping connections. I noticed if I shut the FreeNAS box down the problem stopped. It took me a while but I finally noticed the motherboard i/o plate on the back of the Cooler Master Elite case I'm using wasn't seated properly. As soon as I secured it, the wireless issue went away. I'm guessing there was enough RF floating around the room because of the loose plate it disrupted my AP which was only a few feet away.

BTW, FreeNAS-9.10.1 has been absolutely a joy. I've been using it to hold my data and as a Plex server and it has been rock-steady. Thanks!

Interesting. I wonder how long it would have taken me to find that, seems like one of the last things to be checked.

Thanks for sharing.

Very odd problem to have. Maybe you need a Faraday cage placed around your FreeNAS computer, and see, another reason to not use AMD :D. Yea, I said it, an AMD promoter.

You'd think! It reminds me that 25 years ago one of the "experts" in PC Magazine said we'd never see a PC with a clock speed higher than 100 Mhz because there wouldn't be a way to stop the RFI...
