IP Based Projector?

Looking for a Projector I can simply connect to via IP. LAN is fine, Wireless if need be. Just wanted a way to connect via any computer and bring it up on a larger scale. Going to be doing so teaching/demonstrating and was looking at an easy way to present stuff. Not going to be used for movies or gaming, just standard demonstrations and/or PowerPoint stuff.

Anyone use or have one they would recommend?

Bonuses if:

• It has decent to good lumens
  
• It could be mounted say in a ceiling (if need be) and easily detachable
  
• It could also handle directly connecting via VGA (pretty sure this would be standard)
  
• Not too big, may take with me for client visits/demos
• Not really loud, hate having to talk over something noisy

Don't think I've ever seen such a thing, especially because there's no standard for transmitting monitor output via IP.

It just doesn't work great for purposes outside of showing pictures or powerpoint presentations. Personally, when I need to send video over a long distance, I use HDBaseT over CAT6. There are some pretty cool HDBaseT matrix switch and receiver kits (I know this is off-topic).

On topic, I don't know. Haven't used one for a long time. I suggest searching for the relevant feature set, sorting by price, and buying the most expensive one.

Epson has a "Networking and Technology Tool Guide" (PDF) that has a section on "Sending content over IP –Network Projection" which sounds like what I am looking for.

While not cheap, I have used a pair of Avocent MPX-1500's. Looks like it's now an Emerson product.

Not familiar with them. Looks like they actually don't "Project" anything but need to connect to a monitor/screen? Please correct me if I am wrong.

No, they just provide the wireless connection between your machine and the projector.
