Crucial and Micron are the same ;)

It's Kingston RAM which can be problematic.

That's the exact opposite of what someone on HardForm told me! Given how much SuperMicro is used around here I suspect this forum may have more experience :)

I've just built another workstation. Specs:

Board: Supermicro X10SLM+-LN4F
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1271 V3
RAM: 16 GB Crucial DDR3L-1600, CL11, ECC
Graphics: AMD FirePro W4100
Cooling: Dynatron K666 (nice number)
Chassis: Supermicro CSE-731I-300B
Storage: Intel SSD 750 400 GB; Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1 TB, 2x 512 GB Velociraptor

Only downside: The Intel NVMe drive runs at PCIe x2 2.0 which is pretty bad (throttled at 750 MiB/s).
