Hi Guys
Sorry for the late reply's as I have been trying to sort this out on my own with no luck.
pirateghost sorry for sounding like a dumb ass but as I mentioned above in my first post this is my first crack at Freenas.
I have read up on the adding storage, Permission, jail and anything else that would help me try to achieve the above first post scenario.
Yes it would be easier just to pull the SSD out but I did purchase it for this reason and if I don't use it, it will just sit in a cupboard.
The Plex_database was setup on the SSDpool drive but still did not work as all the files went to the raidzx array jails folder dataset
At this time Plex is not my concern Crashplan is.
What I would really like is for Crashplan to work as the above mentioned.
I have tried 5 or 6 different setup and for the hell of me this can not be achieved.
What ever I do the backup save the files where the jail plugin's sit.
This is not working for me.
I have Freenas 9.3 Stable installed.
I have followed a couple of different set up's from the Freenas forums and the one attached and up dated the crashplan plugin to 4.5.2 using the shell gui.
Installed Bash as required.
What the F**k am I missing.
Has it anything to do with permission?
I have tried to mount and unmount storage with no luck
Is there any where in the crashplan shell where it shows the storage folder?
yes yes I have no f*****g idea but at least I am giving it a go.
Crashplan jail on SSD, Backups on raidzx array this is all I want.

I have given the above a ago with jails sitting in /mnt/MediaVolume/jail on the raidzx array. Why? Why do you care where the Plex database is? I guess access might be marginally faster if it's on an SSD, but is that really something that's a concern for you? This just seems like you're adding complication to your configuration for no reason. But, if you insist on doing it this way, here's how I'd do it:
- Delete your existing jails
- In Jails -> Configuration, set Jail Root to be /mnt/MediaVolume/jail
- In Storage, detach your "PlexJail" volume, and check the box to "mark disks as new"--this will wipe that volume
- Create a new volume with your SSD, and call it something more descriptive like "SSDpool"
- Create a dataset on that volume called plex_database
- Create a jail for Plex following the first few steps here: https://forums.freenas.org/index.ph...all-plex-in-a-freenas-9-3-jail-updated.19412/
- Add the plex_database dataset as storage to the Plex jail. The source would be /mnt/SSDpool/plex_database/, and the destination would be /var/lib/plexmediaserver/
- Continue with the remaining instructions from https://forums.freenas.org/index.ph...all-plex-in-a-freenas-9-3-jail-updated.19412/
- Add the CrashPlan plugin.

Or, what might be a simpler way to go about it:
With this configuration, the Crashplan software itself is running on the SSD, along with the Plex software. But the data that your backup clients are saving to the Crashplan plugin is going onto your main (i.e., HDD) pool, not the SSDs.
- Install both the Plex and Crashplan jails (as well as any future jails) to the SSD pool
- Create a dataset on the main pool for Crashplan's backup storage
- Mount that dataset to the Crashplan jail
What I would really like is for Crashplan to work as the above mentioned.
