File Collaboration?

Hello, my main reason for considering using FreeNAS is to allow a few end users to be able to collaborate on files simultaneously. I just need confirmation if this is efficiently possible using a freeNAS setup assuming hardware requirements are met...etc... Thanks! ...my first experience in file collaboration was using cloud services like OneDrive using a microsoft account.... I want to avoid the cloud for their files if possible.

Not really sure, but will see what others may state. While I am not using OwnCloud, I think it may have this ability: https://doc.owncloud.org/server/7.0/user_manual/documents.html

Are you looking for a file synchronization solution, like OneDrive or ownCloud, or are you looking for a central repository solution? FreeNAS can participate in the former, and can be the host for the latter.
