Hello,

I just built 2 new almost identical FreeNAS boxes running the latest update of 9.3.

Problem is one of them I cannot create a folder under a CIFS share from a Windows PC. It is setup identical to the other with Allow Guest Access enabled.

What gives? I have posted a pic of the windows error.

I think my issue is different. I know about how Windows caches handles connections to a server. I will reboot my PC and both FreeNas4 soon as I shut it down to look at another server.

Here is the output. Looks like it is connecting as nobody
Connect to problematic share, then in freenas console type 'smbstatus'. Are you authenticating as your 'guest' user or another user account?

I am connected to the other one as root. I am going to reboot again. I think I know what I am doing screwy. I just have been busy doing other things.

I just rebooted my Windows PC. When it came back up I mapped as drive to the FreeNas4 connecting as root. I still cannot create a folder and smbstatus still shows me connected as 'nobody'

Still no go, when I turn off Guest Access and type in root credentials to connect to the share, it just rejects them. I have rebooted both my PC and the FreeNas4 now.

I am really at a loss at the moment.

Fixed it by doing the highlighted in the picture. I did do this on the working box now that I think about it.
