Noob Here !
Just got my first FreeNas system up and running and now want to install my Plugins. Is the instructions (Blog) by joshruehlig the best (Most current) example to follow ?
It does seem a bit complex with having to edit Command Line . I'm up for the challenge just want to be on the right path from the start :) . A lot of time and money to get to this point :).

Also contemplating between SickRage and Sonnar ??

Ok, No Answer. I get it. Did my research and joshruehlig BLOG looks to be the best set of instructions. Being a NOOB I still have questions.
All my PC's are Windows based (Yup yuck). When I setup my Dataset to media and UNIX can I still see that Dataset from my windows PC ? Or do I start with a windows Dataset?
My Goal is to have a file server system for my KODI systems over NFS. I have read that is best. BUT I still want access to the files from my windows PC as I have a lot of files to transfer from the start to my server.
Hope that makes senses.

I recommend sticking with UNIX. You'll still be able to access these files just fine from a Windows computer.
I believe the Windows permissions is just there to have more complex permissions using ACLs.

I get View attachment 9723
that's a vi editor to create the crontab I specified.
either figure out how to use it, or figure out how to change your default editor to one you prefer. a suggestion is to use 'ee' since it is easier and preinstalled
