Hi all,

I recently upgraded my OC plugin to 8.2 and am trying to install the News (RSS reader) plugin. I receive error message that PHP 5.5 is a required dependency but it is not found. I logged into the jail shell and executed "pkg install php55" successfully, but I still receive this error when trying to install News, even after rebooting.

Is there some config file or other setting I should toggle but am currently overlooking? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The plugin uses apache, which uses PHP installed to /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64. Updating the version of a dependency installed with a PBI isn't a doable thing. Like you suggest, there may be a way to link the apache to PHP installed somewhere else but I don't personally know.

owncloud should be packaged with php5.6 now instead of php5.4, but because of reasons I describe in the linked thread, I have to use a ports tree that's more than a year old to build PBIs for FreeNAS.

This should all be cleared up when we have FreeNAS10, PBIs can be built using pkg, and therefore a current ports tree.

Thanks, always a pleasure, Joshua. You do fantastic work with the OC plugin; thanks for your efforts and for the amazing follow-up support you provide to all of us hackers and noobs on the forums :) Sounds like the RSS/news reader app will need to wait until FN10 >.<
