Hello
My system is running FreeNAS-9.10.2-U6 (561f0d7a1) and I would like to upgrade it to 11.3-STABLE.
The system is based on a Supermicro MBD-X10SL7-F motherboard. LSI SAS 2308 FW release is 20.00.04.00-IT.
Remembering the compatibility issues we had in the past with P16/P20 firmware and driver, I'd like to confirm what FW is required before upgrading.
The User Guide, at 2.5.1. Caveats, states:
"Upgrading the firmware of Broadcom SAS HBAs to the latest version is recommended"
What does this mean for X10SL7-F / LSI SAS 2308 ?
From the Download page of Supermicro Support the latest available FW for X10SL7-F is 19.00.00.00
The old ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/Driver/SAS/LSI/2308/Firmware/IT ftp is not available anymore.
I've checked for recent threads on this subject with little success.
I'd also like to know if it there's a requirement/recommendation to upgrade from 9.10 to 11.1 and then to 11.2 and 11.3 or there's no problem in jumping directly to 11.3.
Anything else I should take care of before upgrading ?
Thanks
