Will my config break?

I have the asrock board (in sig), and one of the LSI SAS ports dont work.

I'm getting in RMA'd and I'm currently in the test phases of my build. I'm using one SAS with Intel C224 controller, and one with the LSI one.

While I'm in the test phases, I'd still like my config to work when my new board comes in.

Is it possible to transition from the C224 controller to LSI 2308 without my config?

I know that FreeNAS is known for being able to run on any hardware, and I just want to know if this applies. Thanks!

Are you talking about transferring the boot device from one system to another? Yes, this should work just fine.

To explain in detail: I configured my NAS using 1 SAS port using LSI chip (4drives), and 1 SAS port using Intel C224 controller (4drives).

Can I transfer the drives from C224 to the OTHER LSI SAS port?

Yes, you can move drives between ports as much as you like. ZFS marks each disk with a GUID and doesn't care which port it shows up on.
