Hello everybody
I am very new to Freenas and I recently read a lot about it. I want to build a NAS system based on Freenas as a Homestory and Steaming Server. I know that you should use server mainboards and Intel CPUs. But I am a big fan of Ryzen and i would like to ask you if the build i thought about would work properly. As some things as for example the case and fans don't really matter i will skip them.
Here is what i thought:
Mainboard - AsRock B450M Pro4 AMD
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
RAM - 8GB Samsung M391A1G43EB1-CRC DDR4-2400 ECC DIMM CL17 Single
As I want to go for 12TB I would buy 16GB of RAM.
What do you think.... Will it work properly. Has anyone some Experience with such a build? What would you recommend?
