At 7:31 AM one of three 1TB drives in NAS detached. I restarted it by resetting the computer, but I am concerned enough to buy a spare. I found a good deal on a 2TB drive. Will it work if I have to substitute it for one of the 1TB drives in the system. File System is ZFS.

What does poll choice mean? To post a question here one must put something in boxes labled "Possible Responses," with suggested input "poll choice." What does it want?

Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.

Yes, a bigger drive works as a replacement for a smaller drive. The only catch is that half the capacity of the new drive cannot be utilized at the moment. You can grow your vdev in the future though, by replacing all drives with 2TB versions.

Note that one 2TB drive will not work as spare for two 1TB drives at the same time.

A pool creates a little box where users can vote for possible poll answers.

Where you read "Poll choice.", you write the options for the poll.
