Whoops - "pkg install" in wrong SSH session...

FreeNAS 9.10 amd64

I had two ssh sessions active - one to FreeNAS and the other to an installation of ownCloud in a jail. Like an idiot I accidentally executed "pkg install owncloud" inside the FreeNAS ssh session, not in the ownCloud ssh session. Did I just completely mess up on anything? I'm afraid to reboot my FreeNAS (future updates?) until I know I can do it safely.

From what I can tell it installed a bunch of php packages but when I go to /usr/local/www I don't see an owncloud directory (which is the same issue I have when trying to install in the jail). I was having issues when in the web UI for FreeNAS - I could navigate around using the menus but when I tried to execute anything (like deleting the jail, checking for system updates, shutting down, etc) the UI (top, middle of screen) would show something like "an error occurred". Went to the console and rebooted (crossing my fingers) ; everything looked "normal" but I'm not a FreeNAS pro. Performed a "Verify Install" and, once again, everything looks good. No errors.

I think I'm in the clear. (?)

Theoretically, it should just not have done anything.

In any case, you're probably fine if the install was successfully verified.

Couldn't the OP just save the OS config, wipe the system drive and reinstall/reimport?

Sure, but why bother?

I think it's smarter to save config and reinstall FreeNAS because dependent packages that FreeNAS uses might have been updated for the owncloud install and could make FreeNAS unstable. Also I've never been able to install anything on the FreeNAS cause I've accidentally done the same thing and it couldn't connect to the repository or something like that.

Verify Install would've found that sort of error.
