So I've bought stuff from Amazon, Monoprice, and Newegg. More often than not, cables come in these little bags.

I've been organizing my random computer junk, and I've been using ziplock bags, but they're kind of flimsy and tear easily. Anyone know here I can buy these in bulk? I asked at my nearby Fry's electronics and they have no idea. I tried searching on Amazon and Newegg, but searching for "bags" really doesn't help much. :/

Anyone?

Desco makes a lot of that kind of stuff, see for example

My impression of Digikey is that they tend to be a bit pricey for this kind of thing, and I don't usually buy them from DK unless procurement's already got other stuff waiting to order from them.

Janel's a great place for somewhat better pricing on ESD stuff.

Try Hefty Freezer bags, they are much sturdier than the storage variety.

Well, anyways, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who likes to store cables in bags to keep things neat. And the freezer bags are indeed one of the cheapest options for durability here.

1. I LOVE Monporice! I wish everybody knew about them.

2. Yep, gallon Zip-loc freezer bags are perfect for power cables, video cables, etc. Plus they take a sharpie really well.

I just save all my antistatic bags and then reseal them with my foodsaver.

Shipped a drive that way to my father and he called me up asking why I shipped a brand new drive to him. He didn't realise I had used it for almost a year and it was full of data to seed his NAS with.

For simple cable or adapter use, I also endorse the zip-lock freezer bags. (Preferably
without the colored plastic seals, which don't last as long.)

Amazon.com has anti-static bags in various sizes. Needed some for work, and the
person who does the purchasing asking if I could find the Amazon.com link. Never
occured to me before, that I could get them from Amazon. Later I bought the same
ones for personal use. Got the size that supports both 3.5" disks and half length PCI(e)
cards, 8" x 9". Plus, the ones I bought have zip-lock seals.

PS: I do save and re-use anti-static bags. Just at times I run out of the larger sizes.

Yeah, the bags I'm looking for aren't specifically anti-static. They are however mylar bags. That's the keyword I was looking for. I wanted a harder plastic than you get from freezer bags (which is what I was using).

I have craploads of antistatic bags, but they don't have a way to close them, etc. ;)

Thanks everyone!

Hah, so I'm not the only one who gets their catalog, huh. Mine just showed up yesterday too.

Their pricing can be competitive. I experimented with reselling their anti-static bags on eBay. I was able to make a profit, but not so much that I felt like continuing.

My "Spring/Summer 2016" Uline catalog just arrived today. That is a dangerous thing, may find all kinda stuff I never knew I needed....
