When to replace SMART status

Should I be waiting for the drives to actually fail before replacing or should I just go ahead and replace drive that are looking like they will fail. I have one drive that has high seek errors and the temp sometimes will be above 40 . Today I just notice two other drives that have small amount of seek errors too, although they are low it does worry me that these drive power on hours are high and that three drives could fail killing my pool.

All your drives are around the same (quite old, almost 4.5 years) age, so you may want to start getting ahead of the game as signs appear.

1 or 2 doesn't trigger an emergency replacement, but tackling the one with 80 would be a priority.

The last thing you want is for a couple more to fail while you're still resilvering the first.

Are those drives over 1TB? are you in RAIDZ2? (I think you said that)

yea each 4TB, in a RAIDZ2 pool.
