Do I need SMART for SSD

Hi,

I just recently got an error from GUI stating that one of my SSDs (/dev/ada3) has failed its self test. This SSD is fairly new (1 month running) and doesn't see a lot of use.

Device: /dev/ada3, FAILED SMART self-check. BACK UP DATA NOW!


So, I know that SMART tests are designed for HDDs and I've heard that there are sometimes software issues because the SMART test wasn't intended for SSD testing.

Does this Critical Message from freenas above mean that the SSD is showing signs of failiure? Or maybe its simply a problem with SMART.

I will also include the results of a SMART report.

For the outputs given above and the starting thread, there doesn't seem to be any indication of a failure. Was my situation just an anomaly? Or does Freenas have problems with the Kingston V300 SSD?
