Well, to be honest:

1. I (personally) don't consider Asus to be a reputable manufacturer of server-grade components. I know I'm not alone in this opinion. They've had some struggles here. Asus isn't alone either. I don't recommend my beloved Gigabyte "server" motherboards here either.
2. Why buy Asus for $250 when you can buy Supermicro for about $75 less?
3. AMD hardware has had more problems being compatible than Intel. I'm not implying AMD CPUs are junk, but there's *something* about AMD builds that seem to cause problems more often than most people want.
4. Generally, staying with the herd(especially on projects like this where you might not be able to solve your own problems) is a good idea. And the herd.. they're on Supermicro boards. You can bet that if an incompatibility exists with Supermicro products *someone* will put in a ticket, and it would be given a rather high priority. If someone complained that the AMD KCMA-D8 doesn't work it would likely be given a low priority(if it wasn't "closed to no hardware available"). This has happened in the past, and sticking with hardware that the masses are using is an excellent way to ensure your build is problem free both now and in the future.

Thanks!
I have Kingston Hynix memory and I know that it works in Asus.
I'm looking in Supermicro now.
