FreeNAS setup
FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201412200530
8x 2TB WD Green
4x 3TB WD Red
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G530 @ 2.40GHz
16Gb ram non-ECC
Pools are scrubbed every 2 weeks.

One of my 2TB WD Green drives had the same error message (Device: /dev/da7 [SAT], 2 Offline uncorrectable sectors...as in the link below) back in September so I immediately offlined it and replaced with a new one in the same drive bay. It resilvered without any problems.

Now I am getting the same message for the new drive. I pulled it out to test and used a 3TB WD Red drive in a spare bay to temporarily rebuild the pool.

The Green drive passed the WD Data Lifeguard Tools Extended Test. Does this mean the drive is okay or just that WD tests is not rigourous? I could try to RMA the drive with WD, but don't know if 2 Offline uncorrectable sectors is sufficient.

Any chance the hard drive errors could have been caused by faulty RAM or PSU?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Ignore the Lifeguard tools. They don't mean what people would like them to mean. Instead do a short, conveyance, and long smart test from the CLI with smartctl. One of those should fail. Once it fails it will qualify for an RMA. ;)
