Web interface: doesn't use https by default?

Why isn't it the default?

Seems a bit silly, but maybe this has changed with newer releases of FreeNAS?

Because it's an appliance that isn't intended to be managed over insecure networks, and HTTPS is a train wreck of certificate and naming issues. For example, consider that Google Chrome will mercilessly pester you about not trusting a self-signed certificate, and will require you to periodically reconnect at an annoying frequency.

I don't even have any idea why people would be liking that post.

And liking it is better than bringing up an old post and/or cluttering the thread (like I'm doing now :| ) just to say thanks (as ericlowe said, for the information)
